Why You Should Use an F-Gas Certified Company Like BS Air

F-Gas is an umbrella term for a range of gases containing fluorine, for example, Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) and perfluorocarbons (PFC). All of these gases pose a global warming risk greater than 1, meaning that in an effort to encourage sensible and limited use of them, legislation now requires that anyone handling F-Gases must be certified to do so. These gases are most commonly found in refrigeration systems, air conditioning and heating, and fire protection systems.

Here at BS Air, all of our engineers are fully certified to comply with the law and ensure we handle repair and installation work in the safest way possible. We’ve listed a few of the reasons why an F-Gas Certified company is the only option for your air conditioning maintenance.

Industry Recognised

Most importantly, the certificate is an industry recognised qualification, required legally in the UK by all individuals and companies involved in the handling of F-Gases. You will be safe in the knowledge that all BS Air engineers are fully qualified to deliver a high standard of care.

Legal Requirement

All businesses that carry out the installation, maintenance, decommissioning or recovery of F-Gases must hold a company certificate, whilst individuals directly responsible for this work must hold a personal certificate. Any company without a valid qualification is not authorised to carry out work on your air conditioning or refrigeration system and should not be hired.

Understanding of F-Gases

Being certified in the handling of F-Gases means our engineers have a better understanding of the Gases and their use in fire systems, ensuring a safe handling and installation service for all our customers.
